Small Victories

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

A couple months ago, I submitted three photos to Jeff at BOOOOOOOM for a show he was putting together in Hong Kong. The show was called “Small Victories” and featured a lot of photos from artists all over the world. It was “a photographic celebration of the quietly beautiful, unintentionally funny, people and things all around us. It is these little moments that make life worth living.” “Small Victories” was held at the Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong and was on display from May 20 to June 20. I wish I could have hopped on a plane and attended the opening. Maybe stay a couple months…

It was really awesome to participate in something collaborative but on such a large scale, with so many different people (strangers). It was a great opportunity and I thank Jeff Hamada for putting on a cool event like this. You can view the photos selected and view photos of the show opening.

I miss wandering the streets and documenting life around me. In high school, I could just drive downtown and walk around for hours. Whether it was on the railroad tracks behind Conseco or down alleyways I probably had no business walking through, there was always something interesting to capture. Hopefully in the future, I will find more time to discover those interesting things that should be documented. Only this time, it will probably be digital.
